Pakistan observes Kashmir Solidarity Day on Wednesday to confirm his commitment to Kashmiri people’s struggle for self-determination as described in the United Nations decisions.
The day that was marked by a public holiday every year on February 5, then solidarity migrations and human chains formed across the country, including in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The government and people in Pakistan are united with the residents of IIIOJK in their struggle for freedom from Indian submission. Rally was held in different cities, with a significant event that took place at Constitution Avenue in Islamabad.
One minute of silence was observed at. 10 to honor kashmiri martyrs where sirens sound all over the country.
The IIOJK legislative assembly has called for a special session in Muzaffarabad to express solidarity with Kashmiris, while human chains were formed in central places such as Mangla, Kohala, Bararkot, Azad Pattan and Holar, symbolizing the unit between Pakistan and IIOJK.
Special events were also held at Mangla Bridge in Mirpur and in Kotli and Bhimber districts.
President Asif Ali Zardari, in his message for the day, called on the international community to honor his responsibility and help Kashmiris in their battle. He called on the United Nations to fulfill his promises given 78 years ago on the region’s right to self -determination.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized today’s significance in confirming Pakistan’s support for Kashmiris. “The right to self-determination is a fundamental principle of international law. We stand by the Kashmiri people just struggling to decide their own future,” he said.
The Prime Minister also condemned the illegal acts that India has taken in IIOJK, including the oppression of political parties and human rights violations.
In his speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz called for international pressure on India to allow Kashmiri’s opportunity to exercise their right to self -determination and emphasize that lasting peace in South Asia can only be achieved if India stops suppressing Kashmiri’s people’s hopes.
The Pakistani military also confirmed its support for the Kashmiri case. The chairman joint head of the staff committee, General Sahir Shamshad, together with Services Chiefs, expressed solidarity of the people of IIOJK.
The military condemned the serious violations of human rights in the region, including extracurricular murder, enforced disappearance and arbitrary detention. “We strongly urge the international community to take crucial actions and ensure the implementation of the UN Security Council’s resolutions,” the military spokesman said.
