Pakistan obliged to eradicate terrorism: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed Pakistan’s obligation to eradicate terrorism and said the country has adopted a multi -formed strategy to eliminate the threat of its roots.

Chairman of a review of the Governing Committee for Terrorism in Islamabad on Thursday, Sharif said: “The state of Pakistan is obliged to eliminate the scourge of terrorism at its roots, and the world recognizes Pakistan’s successful operations against terrorists.”

He emphasized that Pakistan’s anti-terrorism strategy includes soil operations, legal reforms, public engagement and counter-extremist ideologies. He ordered the committee to ensure strong coordination between federal and provincial authorities and strict implementation of recommendations.

The Prime Minister also praised Pakistan armed forces for their role in major operations such as Zarb-e-Azb, Radd-Ul-Fasaad, and the recently concluded Marka-E-Haq, which he described as a “historic struggle” recognized globally as a great success.

“The whole nation, including the families of officers and staff who sacrificed their lives for the motherland, are proud of their courage and selflessness,” he said.

SHARIF acknowledged contributions from provincial governments, the intelligence agency, the Ministry of the Interior and the terrorist departments-Især Punjab’s CTD-in the fight against terrorism.

He said Pakistan implements a comprehensive strategy to run antisocial elements, including “Fitna al-Hindustan” and “Khawarij.”

The Prime Minister said the coordinated efforts of relevant institutions were significantly limited smuggling, which has affected the national economy.

He emphasized the importance of peace and security to restore investor confidence, quoting digitization reforms, improvements in the tax system and an increase in Pakistan exchange as a sign of growing economic stability.

Sharif also said that the repatriation of Afghan citizens residing in Pakistan was performed effectively and in line with international laws.

The meeting attended Vice Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, head of the Army Staff Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, National Security Advisor LT Gen Muhammad Asim Malik, Ministers, Provincial Secretaries, Police Inspectors and other officials.
