Pakistan Railways has introduced a new policy for the repayment of ticket payment, which also applies to tickets purchased through the “Raabta” app, Express News reported.
According to the message from Pakistan Railways, passengers who buy tickets from Railway’s Sale Point (POS) may receive a refund of up to 90%if canceled 48 hours before the train departure.
If it was canceled 24-48 hours before departure, 80% of the amount will be refunded and if canceled within 24 hours of departure, 70% will be refunded.
Passengers can also get a 50% refund within 2 hours of the train’s departure. If the train is delayed by 6 hours or more, a full refund will be delivered.
Refunds for POS tickets will only be available on the respective counters where the tickets were purchased.
To demand the reimbursement, passengers must submit the original ticket and a copy of their ID card, after which they receive cancellation grip and refund.
For online tickets, refund can only be processed through the same online service used for payment.
The same reimbursement policy also applies to online tickets. No refund will be issued after the train’s departure, but if cancellation takes place less than 90 minutes before departure, 50% refund will be given.
