The federal government has announced a significant discount on train prices for the three days of Eidul Azha, as part of its efforts to facilitate travel during the festive season, Express News reported.
Railway minister Hanif Abbasi confirmed the development of a media briefing on Monday and said that five special trains would be operated on to Eidul Azha.
“The special trains will be in operation throughout the holidays to facilitate transportation for people traveling to their hometowns for the apartment,” he said. He also assured that agreements concluded with the media would be fully everywhere.
When he highlighted the results of the Pakistan railways, Abbasi mentioned that the department had achieved significant milestones in its 77-year history, especially in the last 11 months. “The performance of Pakistan Railways has been unique,” he added.
Furthermore, Abbasi revealed that Pakistan Railways generated revenue through his rented properties. “In accordance with the prime minister’s vision, Royal Palm will be outsourced with transparency in the bid process, and bids are opened in full public view,” the minister said.
Abbasi also announced a budget distribution of RS1 billion to the eight rail hospitals. He said there was an effort to outsource these hospitals, but promised that medical services for railway employees would remain free.
