Pakistan Railways has announced that its luxury salong trainer, previously reserved for senior officials, will now be available for booking the public.
According to Express newsthe decision was made by the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The initiative aims to expand premium travel facilities to ordinary citizens and optimize the use of existing railway resources.
Five luxury salons previously used by the Prime Minister, federal ministers, president of Pakistan Railways, CEO and Inspector General for Railways, will now be available to any passenger who wants to book them.
Pakistan Railways has also decided to keep prices for luxury salons very affordable to ensure wider public access. This decision reflects the government’s obligation to improve public transport without compromising affordable prices.
Luxury Saloon Service will be available on larger Intercity routes, including trains running from Karachi to Lahore, Lahore to Karachi, Islamabad to Lahore and Lahore to Islamabad.
Officials say the move is part of wider reforms aimed at modernizing rail travel, improving customer satisfaction and increasing the revenue for non-price through better asset utilization.
