Pakistan has strongly rejected recent comments from India’s Ministry of External Affairs regarding Jammu and Kashmir, calling New Delhi’s claims “Invalid” under international law, Radio Pakistan reported.

During his weekly press briefing in Islamabad on Friday, the Foreign Office spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan India’s attitude and said the designation of the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) as a “trade union area” has no legal value.

He confirmed that Jammu and Kashmir remain a “contentious territory” recognized by the United Nations, and its final status must be determined “in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council solutions and the hopes of the Kashmiri people.”

In response to a question, Khan said Pakistan had noted comments from the Indian Minister of External Affairs, who had leveled accusations against Pakistan.

He described the minister’s comments as part of a lasting pattern and said, “It is regrettable that the Indian leadership at different levels continues to invoke Pakistan in their personal discourse and reveal an incredible occupation.”

Khan also noted the irony of the minister’s statement that he did not want to spend “precious time in Pakistan,” called it “particularly ironic.”

By rejecting what he called India’s “Continued Diatribe” about terrorism, the spokesman said, “India’s false tale of being a victim cannot divert international attention from his bleak human rights record and his own involvement in terrorism.”

He urged India to stop making “baseless claims” and instead focus on ending what Pakistan sees as a 77-year-old forced occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
