Pakistan resumes flights after the Gulf Airspace reopening again

Pakistan has resumed flight operations to the golf region after the reopening of the airspace over Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, confirmed aviation sources on Tuesday.

This development came after Trump mediated a ceasefire between Israel and Iran through conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, while his team, including Vice President JD Vance, held conversations with Tehran, said a White House official.

The National Airline, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), had temporarily suspended flights late on Monday due to rising tensions in the region.

Despite the restoration of services, delays are still expected from five to thirteen hours for flying of Gulf-bound. A total of 32 flights, including 14 Qatar Airways services, have been canceled according to updated airplanes.

In addition, 55 flights, both arrival and departure, have experienced delays at airports in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and other cities.

Although Saudi Arabia and UAE did not close their airspace, several flights were redirected to alternative airports due to the escalating situation.

Bahrain and Kuwait had resumed operations earlier, with Qatar after subsequently later that night, enabling a partial restoration of services.

Previously, Pia announced the suspension of its aircraft operations from Pakistan to Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Dubai due to the ongoing security situation in the golf region.

A Pia spokesman stated that the decision to limit aircraft operations is a precautionary measure in response to the increased tensions in the region.

The suspension affects all planned flights between Pakistan and these golf destinations.

Pia has assured that operations resume when the situation in the region is normalized. Passengers booked on these flights are advised to contact the Pia Call Center for Updated Information about their journey.

In addition, the Pia Reservation Department has begun to re -book affected passengers on alternative flights.

The airline has apologized for the inconvenience caused by cancellation, emphasizing that the security of its passengers is of the greatest priority.
