Pakistan sends 150,000 qualified workers to Belarus

During Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to Belarus, Pakistan and Belarus accepted to send over 150,000 educated and talented young people from Pakistan to Belarus. In addition, several agreements were signed to improve military cooperation and increase trade between the two countries.

Mous was also signed across several sectors during the visit. Before this, a bilateral meeting took place between the Belarusian President and Prime Minister Shehbaz at the Palace of Independence in Minsk. A consensus was to develop an extensive action plan to send over 150,000 skilled Pakistani workers to Belarus.

The prime minister was warmly welcomed upon his arrival in Belarus by President Alexander Lukashenko. The armed forces presented an honorary guard and the national hymns in both countries were played.

After the welcome ceremony, an official event was held in which representatives from both nations signed various agreements and the agreement morandum (Mous). Among these, a military cooperation agreement was signed between the ministries of defense of Pakistan and Belarus.

In addition, Pakistan’s Trade Development Authority (TDAP) and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation agreement. An agreement was also signed between the postal department in the two countries to facilitate the exchange of postal articles.

Both nations agreed to collaborate on agricultural development and manufacture of agricultural machinery. Joint efforts will also be made in the production of electric vehicles and buses as well as to improve food security. Defense cooperation and partnerships for business-to-business will be strengthened.

The two leaders also discussed various topics, including trade, investments and regional issues. They expressed satisfaction over the recent positive development in the overall relationship between Pakistan and Belarus.
