Pakistan sends 300 agricultural educators to China under PM’s training initiative

The first group of 300 agricultural educators departs China on April 16 as part of a government -funded international training program aimed at modernizing Pakistan’s agricultural sector, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research said in a statement Monday.

The initiative entitled The Prime Minister’s initiative for capacity building of 1,000 agricultural educators in China seeks to equip young professionals with groundbreaking skills in farm technology, biotechnology and sustainable agricultural practice.

“Through collaboration with leading Chinese universities and research institutes, the program offers specialized training in nine high -priority areas, including farm mechanization, biotechnology, genomics, precision farming, artificial intelligence and high -efficiency irrigation systems,” the ministry said.

PM Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister of National Food Safety Rana Tanveer Hussain are scheduled to attend a broadcast Ceremony on April 15 for the departure of the departure.

The training program, which ranges between three to six months, is fully funded by the Pakistani government. Candidates were selected through a credit -based competition process with locations adapted to their academic specializations.

According to the ministry, participants are expected to return as a “master coach” who will play a key role in the transfer of knowledge and modern techniques to local agricultural communities, universities and research institutions.

The government had previously announced plans to send a total of 1,000 agricultural educators to China in 2025 during this capacity building efforts. Officials say the initiative reflects Islamabad’s obligation to transform agriculture into a high -tech and sustainable sector that can meet food security challenges and increase economic growth.
