Pakistan sends first batch of help to Myanmar Quake Survivors

Following the instructions of the Prime Minister in Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has begun to send relief to the victims of the earthquake in Myanmar.

The first shipping of help includes 35 tonnes of items, including tents, tarpaulins, blankets, ready to eat meals, medicine and water modules.

The auxiliary supplies are transported by a special flight to Yangon, Myanmar. The Federal Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, participated in the ceremony for sending emergency aid supply with officials from NDMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ambassador of Myanmar.

Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stated that in accordance with the prime minister’s instructions, a total of 70 tonnes of help will be sent to Myanmar. He emphasized that Pakistan stands with the people of Myanmar during this difficult time.

A special message of sympathy for the people of Myanmar was also conveyed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The ambassador of Myanmar expressed gratitude to the government and Pakistan’s population for their help and praised the efforts of Pakistan for relief efforts.

Another 35 tonnes of emergency supplies will soon be sent as part of the second shipment to further help the victims.
