Pakistan signs health cooperation with Palestine

Pakistan and Palestine have signed an appointment morandum (MOU) aiming to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in the health sector, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed by the Federal Minister of Health Mustafa Kamal and the Palestinian ambassador at a ceremony attended by senior health officials, including federal health secretary Hamid Yaqoob, the Health of the Secretary and the Director General.

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal announced that a Pakistan-Palestine working group will be set up within the next 30 days to oversee the implementation of the agreement and guide practical cooperation.

He said the focus on collaboration would include advanced medical areas such as intervention cardiology, organ transplantation, orthopedic surgery, endoscopic ultrasound and combustion and plastic surgery. Joint efforts will also be persecuted in infectious diseases, ophthalmologist and pharmaceutical drugs together with opportunities for collaborative research.

“The purpose of this agreement is to promote closer cooperation in improving health and well -being for the population of both fraternal nations,” Kamal said. “We will continue to expand any possible support to our Palestinian brothers and sisters in the field of health. The hearts of the population of Pakistan strike with Palestine, and we are ready to help them in every way possible.”

The Palestinian ambassador welcomed the initiative and said, “Palestine and Pakistan are fraternal countries. Together we will work for improving our people’s health and well -being.”
