Pakistan stands by ‘before 1967’ boundaries of Palestine: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has confirmed that the establishment of a strong and viable Palestinian state based on before the 1967 boundaries with al-QD’s al-Sharif as its capital remains and will continue to remain the basis of Pakistan’s policy on the Middle East.

The prime minister traveled to Pakistan after completing his two-day visit to Sharm el-Sheikh, where he attended the Gaza Peace summit held in Egypt. Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Ahmed Fouad Hanno, offered goodbye to the Prime Minister and the Pakistani delegation.

Before his departure, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed in a message sent on X, some reflections on what he described as a potentially transformative moment and Pakistan’s deep and historical connection to it.

He said that Pakistan’s ahead priority has been to stop the genocide campaign imposed on Gaza. This goal has consistently been expressed and reinforced in coordination with other fraternal nations.

He also expanded appreciation to President Trump and expressed hope that he will act to stop the violence and fulfill his commitment in this regard.

The prime minister also emphasized that Pakistan will continue to recognize President Trump’s unique role in the pursuit of peace. The freedom, dignity and prosperity of the Palestinian people have a fundamental impact on Pakistan.

He reiterated that God willingly, the establishment of a strong and viable Palestinian state based on the 1967 boundaries with al-QD’s al-Sharif, as its capital remains the cornerstone of Pakistan’s Middle East policy.
