Pakistan to continue supporting people from Jammu and Kashmir, says Prime Minister Shehbaz

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday said Pakistan would continue to expand his political, diplomatic and moral support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who led a struggle to get their right to self -determination and freedom.

In a message on the occasion of Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, which was observed on July 13, he said: “The day is observed every year to pay tribute to the 22 Kashmiries who sacrificed their lives on July 13, 1931, while protesting against the dogra forces in Jammu and Kashmir.”

“It serves as a reminder of the inherent standing, resistance to brutal powers and unshakable decision on the Muslims in Kashmir.

The struggle for freedom, human rights and Kashmiri rights has taken place throughout Kashmir’s history, “the prime minister said.

“The Kashmiri people have been and sacrifices their lives in their legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination.

“Pakistan’s government expresses its political, diplomatic and moral support in solidarity with the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir, who are illegally occupied by India.

“We greet the courage and determination of all Kashmiri martyrs who sacrificed their lives for decades of Indian occupation.”

“Today, Pakistan’s government confirms its obligation to solve the Kashmir question and the right to self-determine Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the United Nations decisions,” he concluded.
