Afridi was fined 25% of his fighting fee for violating Article 2.12 of the Code of Conduct which relates to “inappropriate physical contact” with a player or another during a match.
It was off the last ball on over. Just the ball before made Breetzke, after defending the ball, a gesture with his bat, which Afridi responded by going down the field and saying something. Breetzke did not go back and the judges were quickly on stage.
From the last ball, Breetzke started on a run after playing the ball away to the leg and Afridi moved against the dough. Breetzke encountered him before finishing his race.
It was a violation of Article 2.5 of the code that relates to “using languages, actions or movements prescribed or that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a dough”.
Neither of the three had any prior demolition points.
Pakistan won the match and chased South Africa’s 352 down for 5 with one over the left-it was their first successful hunt for 350-plus races in ODI Friday before the action switches to Champions Trophy.
