Pakistan, Turkiye and Azerbaijan Confirm Unit at Trilateral Summit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif joined Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev in a firm call to “reject conflict” and prioritize peace as the three nations had a high -level trilateral summit in Lachin, Azerbaijan.

The meeting marked a symbolic display of unity among historically allied nations, where Pakistan, Turkiye and Azerbaijan confirm mutual support on long -standing regional disputes, including Kashmir, Karabakh and Northern Cyprus.

PM Shehbaz was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and head of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The summit is part of his four-nation diplomatic tour that has already included visits to Turkiye and Iran. He is expected to continue to Tadsjikistan next to attending the international conference on glaciers in Dushanbe.

Shehbaz said the world is facing “serious challenges” such as conflict, climate change, illness and economic instability.

“This is why we three have gathered here today and choose compassion while rejecting conflict,” he said. “We are convinced that patience and wisdom will eventually initiate peace and prosperity.”

He thanked President Aliyev for the warm hospitality and said that the summit reflected “a meeting with the hearts and souls of true friends and sincere successors.”

Shehbaz remembered “fertile discussions” held during last year’s Sopmita Cooperation Organization Summit in Kazakhstan and said the trilateral partnership was ready to rise to “new heights” in line with people’s ambitions. “This would be no surprise to anyone, as Pakistan, Azerbaijan and Turkiye are bound together by deep historical, cultural and spiritual ties that have been forged over the centuries of shared values ​​and mutual support.”

The Prime Minister confirmed solidarity with Baku and Ankara, referring to Pakistan’s unwavering positions on Karabakh and Turkish Cyprus. He noticed, “Our strength lies in our solidarity and mutual respect.”

Shehbaz thanked both nations for their visible public support during Pakistan’s recent military standoff with India after the Pahagam incident. “We couldn’t help but be fascinated by the intensity of our common citizens’ sincerity and enthusiasm,” he said.

He said India had failed to present credible evidence connecting Pakistan with the incident and had rejected Islamabad’s offer of a neutral and transparent international investigation.

By tacking the summit, President Ilham Aliyev expressed concern about the recent Pakistan-India tensions and repeated Azerbaijan’s solidarity with Pakistan. “We saw it very close in the hope that peace would prevail. From the early hours we expressed our solidarity with fraternal Pakistan,” he said.

Aliyev added that the decision through “Dialogue and Negotiations in accordance with the UN Charter and the decisions” was the best way forward.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz also expanded heartfelt congratulations to Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on their Republic’s Day. “The way Azeri Nation fought for its liberation, you earned a high position in the nation’s society,” he said.

He also praised President Erdogan’s handling of the Kurdish rebel question with reference to PKK’s recent decision to dissolve. “That explains in Bind, my brother, your diplomatic ability to solve this problem. By virtue of this you have earned a high place and influence not only in the region, but beyond,” he said.

A day earlier, Shehbaz held a bilateral meeting with President Aliyev and thanked him for Azerbaijan’s support during recent confrontation with India. The meeting also attended Coas Gen Munir.

According to a press release from the Prime Minister’s office, the two pages confirmed their commitment to diversify their strategic partnership and promote investment opportunities. Azerbaijan agreed to facilitate the exchange of delegations to promote discussions about its investment in Pakistan.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Shehbaz described the visit as a celebration of “historical bonds rooted in shared history, mutual trust and unshakable support for each other.” He expressed confidence that bilateral ties under President Aliyev’s leadership would “continue to grow from strength to strength.”
