Islamabad:
Bilateral trade between Pakistan and the United States has experienced a significant increase in the current financial year.
According to sources, trade volume between the two countries in FY 2024-25 rose by 16%and reached $ 7,598 billion.
Data shows that Pakistan’s exports to the United States are $ 5,836 billion and marks a 10% increase compared to last year. On the other hand, imports from the United States make up $ 1,763 billion, reflecting a sharp increase of 40%.
In the export sector, textile products remained dominant. Exports of sheets, tablecloths and kitchen linen reached $ 1.038 billion, while the exports of men’s suits, jackets and pants amounted to $ 936 million.
Other finished clothes picked up $ 386 million, T-shirts $ 361 million, sweaters and cardigans $ 312 million and socks (socks) $ 278 million.
The export of knitted men’s shirts was valued at $ 244 million, leather goods for $ 165 million, and women’s suits, jackets and dresses for $ 157 million.
On the import side, the highest growth was registered in cotton import, which rose to $ 393 million. Iron and steel scrap imports amounted to $ 159 million, soybeans for $ 137 million and coal for $ 56 million.
Other major imports included chemical wood pulp and gas turbines (every $ 50 million), automatic data processing machines ($ 40 million), oil oil ($ 38 million), medical instruments ($ 36 million) and dry fruits ($ 33 million).
