Pakistan greeted Sunday President Donald Trump’s latest offer to convey Kashmir -Tvisten.
In a statement issued on Sunday, spokesman for the Foreign Office Shafqat Ali Khan said that any solution must adapt to relevant UN Security Council’s decisions and secure Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
“We appreciate President Trump’s expression of support for peace efforts,” the spokesman said. “The Jammu and Kashmir twig is still a core problem with consequences for regional and global security.”
The Fo spokesman also recognized the constructive role of the United States, and other friendly countries support the recently announced ceasefire between Pakistan and India that came into force after a period of increased military tensions.
He added that Pakistan remains obliged to engage in the United States and the international community to promote peace, security and financial cooperation in the region.
“We look forward to elaborating on our multifaceted partnership with the United States, especially in trade, investment and development sectors,” he said.
The declaration comes hours after President Trump promised to support the efforts of a solution of Kashmir -Tvisten and to significantly increase trade with both nations.
In a message sent on his social media platform, Truth Social, the Trump called the agreement “historically and heroic” and said that both countries had shown “strength, wisdom and strength” by stopping what he described as escalating aggression.
“I am very proud of the strong and unwavering powerful leadership of India and Pakistan to have the strength, wisdom and strength to fully know and understand that it was time to stop the current aggression that could have led to so many deaths and destruction and so much,” Trump wrote.
