Pakistan ‘welcomes’ UN Chief’s comments

Islamabad:

Pakistan welcomed Sunday’s remarks from the United Nations Secretary -General António Guterres regarding the recent ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India and called it a significant step towards lasting peace in South Asia.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Islamabad expressed gratitude for the Secretary -General’s comments and repeated his view that the ceasefire contributes positively to promoting a stable and peaceful regional environment.

By confirming his long-standing position, Pakistan emphasized that a fair and peaceful solution of the jammu and kashmir swindle remains central to lasting lasting peace in the region.

The declaration repeated Pakistan’s call for a decision in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions and Kashmiri’s ambitions.

“Pakistan attaches great importance to the role of the United Nations in promoting peace and regional stability,” the Foreign Office said, emphasizing the country’s obligation to “constructive and result-oriented dialogue”, which is based on the principles of UN-Charter and international law.

Pakistan and India on Saturday agreed on a ceasefire broken by the United States in a dramatic turning of events and prevented a wider conflict between the two nuclear armed neighbors.

Pakistan launched Pakistan in the early hours of Saturday a barrier of missile tremors through air and surface and targeted 26 military installations throughout India. The country had promised retaliation after India conducted a series of missile attacks that hit deep inside Pakistan. The strikes had killed 26 civilians.

However, the tipping point was India’s missile attack on Airbases, including Nur Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi on Friday night. The base is not only an important logistical base, but is used for VVIP movements.

Shortly after the Indian missile strikes, Pakistan launched a massive attack that stunned India.

At that time, world capitals, including the Indian closest allies, realized that the situation had reached a point where everything could happen. When people woke up to more missile and drone exchange between the two countries, diplomacy was already at work.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Army General General Syed Asim Munir and Minister of Indian external affairs, Dr. S JAISHANKAR.

In the afternoon, when people in many cities in Pakistan came out to celebrate the country’s victory, President Trump broke the story of the ceasefire.

“After a long evening of conversations mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have accepted a full and immediate ceasefire. Congratulations to both countries using common sense and great intelligence,” he said in a post of truth in truth.

Minutes after the US President’s announcement, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the development on social media, while also confirming Pakistan’s consistent persecution of peace and regional stability. With input from app
