Chief of Army Staff (Coas) General Asim Munir repeated the country’s regular decision to counter terrorism and support development in Balochistan, during an interaction with participants of the 15th national workshop Balochistan held in General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawal Pindi.
When he spoke to the event on Monday, Coas Munir emphasized the government’s obligation to socio-economic lifting in Balochistan, Public Relations (ISPR) said Inter-Services (ISPR) in a statement.
“The scope and extent of ongoing and planned initiatives should serve to remove the obvious disinformation in this regard,” he said. “Many development projects have already begun to bear fruit and benefit the people of Balochistan,” he added.
He famous civil society, especially youth -led efforts, to raise awareness and contribute to the province’s progress. “Their role is critical for enabling the progress that leads to prosperity,” the COAs added.
With the highlight of security concerns, General Munir warned that foreign sponsored terrorism is still the most serious threat to Balochistan’s stability. “The dishonest design of hostile elements seeking to encourage violence, spreading fear and destabilizing the province are not allowed to succeed,” he said.
He condemned those who, in the form of the Baloch identity, participate in terrorism. “Terrorist groups committing terror in the name of the Baloch identity to promote their small insidious agenda is a spot on Baloch honor and patriotism,” he said.
He repeated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and noticed, “Pakistan seeks peace in the region and in addition to the fact that if Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is violated, Pakistan will, however, respond with full strength to maintain his national prestige and well -being for his people.”
Coas Munir claimed that the armed forces and law enforcement authorities, supported by the nation’s support, will continue their campaign to eliminate terrorism.
“Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement authorities will continue to fight the threat of terrorism with the full support of the population of Pakistan,” he concluded.
The workshop hosted a diverse group of parliamentarians, bureaucrats, members of civil society, youth, academia and media representatives with a strong focus on representation from Balochistan. It aimed to equip the province’s future leadership with deeper insight into national and provincial challenges.
