Pakistan, world powers slam Israel’s doha strike as a dangerous violation of sovereignty

Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s Air Reat in Doha, which is aimed at Hamas leaders, and denotes it to a “most dangerous provocation” that threatens regional peace and stability.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in a statement of X that the attack was “illegal and abominable” as it threatened the life of innocent civilians by beating a residential area in the Qatari capital.

“This aggression of Israel is completely unjustified, a brave violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and constitutes a most dangerous provocation that can imperiles regional peace and stability,” he said.

He expressed solidarity with the Qatari leadership, adding that Pakistan “stands firm with the state of Qatar as well as with the people of Palestine against Israel’s aggression”.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also condemned the strike and called it “reprehensible” and an obvious violation of international law. He emphasized that Pakistan “repeats his unwavering support to the people and the state of Qatar in these serious times”.

Israel confirmed that it had carried out the attack when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Israel started it, Israel performed it, and Israel takes full responsibility.”

Qatar, where Hamas has long maintained his political base, strongly condemned the “Feige” strike, with his Foreign Ministry, which declared it as a “obvious violation of international laws and norms”, which posed a serious threat to the security of Qataris and the residents.

Doha spokesman Majed Al Ansari said on X that Qatar “will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behavior”.

The international community also expressed alarm. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called the attack a “obvious violation of sovereignty,” and called on all parties to work against a permanent ceasefire.

Turkiye said targeting Hamas’ delegation during ongoing ceasefire conversations proved that Israel had no intention of peace, but instead pursued “expansionist politics” and used “terrorism as state policy”.

Iran’s spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Israel’s attack on Hamas officials in Qatar is “dangerous” and a “violation of international law,” Iranian media reported.

Jordan and the United Arab Emirates also condemned the Israeli strikes in Doha.
