Pakistani Duo set unique Guinness world record at the Boston Marathon

Faisal Shafi and Danish Elahi, two runners from Karachi, have set a world record at the Boston Marathon.

They finished the 26.2-Mile race in 3 hours and 26 minutes and became the first people to do it while having traditional Shalwar Kamez.

Their performance marks the first time that every runner has ever finished a large marathon of less than four hours dressed in Pakistan’s national attire.

The duo started and ended the race together and dedicated their performance to their country.

“This record is dedicated to the whole of Pakistan,” Elahi said after the race.

“Putting a record in a historic race like Boston is really memorable.” Shafi repeated his feelings and said, “We did this to highlight Pakistan’s positive image.”

Although there is no official category to run in traditional clothing, the duo’s business has been recognized by Guinness World Record as a world record.

Their performance mixed cultural pride with athletic endurance, drawing admiration from other competitors.

The Boston Marathon, first held in 1897, is one of the most prestigious long -distance events globally.

When they returned to Pakistan, Shafi and Elahi plan to hold parties to share their milestone with supporters.
