Pakistan on Wednesday expressed concern about the murder of tourists in an attack in Indian-lyders-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, who offered compassion for the victims’ families and wants a quick recovery for the wounded.
The statement came from the Foreign Office in response to questions about the incident that took place in the Anantnag district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
“We are concerned about the loss of tourists’ life in an attack in Anantnag,” spokesman for the Foreign Office said. “We are expanding our compassion to the closest of the deceased and wishing the wounded a quick recovery.”
At least 26 tourists were killed and dozens wounded Tuesday after guns opened fire in a popular resort city in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The attack took place on Tuesday in Pahagam, about 90 km from Srinagar, the region’s main city.
According to the Indian police, the assailants assaulted a group of tourists and fired up close.
The attack also left more than three dozen people who were injured, many of whom remain in critical condition.
After the attack, the Indian media has begun to produce and spread false and baseless propaganda.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visits Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, briefly cut his journey after the deadly shooting attack, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He decided “Heinous Act” in this summer’s retreat of Pahagam and pledged the striker “brought to justice”.
The killings come a day after Modi met in New Delhi with US Vice President JD Vance, who is on a four-day tour in India with his wife and children.
Vance offered compassion in a social media post, while President Donald Trump said “the United States are strong with India against terrorism”.
