Pakistan’s IT exports have risen by 28%and reaching $ 1.86 billion, with further growth expected in the coming months, Minister of Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced on Sunday.
Khawaja spoke on Leap 2025 during the Pakistan-Saudi Business Forum, highlighting the government’s obligation to expand Pakistan’s digital economy. She described the Digital Nation Act 2025 as a transformative initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s technical and innovation landscape.
“Digital Nation ACT 2025 is a promise to transform Pakistan’s digital economy,” she said, adding that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are improving their digital and economic partnership.
Khawaja also announced that Pakistan will soon host a Digital Foreign Investment (FDI) Forum in Islamabad, which brings together global investors to explore the opportunities in Pakistan’s tech sector.
She confirmed that both countries under Pakistan-Saudi Vision 2030 are obliged to strengthen the tape in new technologies. The government under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership has adopted a comprehensive strategy for driving digital economic growth.
The wave in IT exports and increased foreign collaborative signal Pakistan’s ambition to place itself as a regional technology nodes and exploit strategic partnerships to accelerate the growth of the digital sector.
