National Highway Authority (NHA) in Pakistan has officially announced the implementation of a 100% M tag policy across all highways in the country that is effective from today, February 1, 2025.

According to the official news agency Associated Press from Pakistan (app), NHA has also decided to charge additional fees from vehicles without M-brands.

According to NHA’s review, vehicles with low balance or those using cash tolls will incur an additional 25% fee on the total tax with a minimum additional fee of RS50.

Earlier, in December 2021, NHA had announced a deadline for the full implementation of the M-Tag system stating that vehicles without M-tags would no longer be allowed to pass through the motorway plases.

Despite this, cash booths remained available on highways, allowing vehicles without M-brands to pay the same toll as M-Tag users.

The full implementation of the M-Tag policy aims to streamline the toll process and encourage the use of electronic tags for more efficient and faster traveling over Pakistan’s motorway network.
