Polio is a crippling disease without cure, and the completion of the routine vaccination for all children under five gives them great immunity to this horrible disease.

The first nationwide polio campaign in 2025 reached over 45 million children earlier this month, a statement from the Pakistan Polio program said.

It added that a FIPV UP CAMPAIGN IN THE QUETTA DIVISION AND KARACHI was held between 20 and 28 February, vaccinating about 0.9 million children with injectable and oral polio vaccines for an additional increase in immunity.

In addition, a targeted vaccination activity was also held in 104 union councils bordering Afghanistan or had Afghan refugee camps this week to reduce the risk of cross -border and internal poliovirus transfer, vaccinated over 0.6 million children.

The polio program encouraged all parents to have their children vaccinated against polio at every opportunity to keep them protected from this devastating disease.
