Karachi: Pakistan’s volleyball team Under 19 continued its dominant race in the FIVB World Cup and secured a fourth consecutive win by sweeping Puerto Rico in straight sets (25-20, 25-20, 25-15) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The victory solidified Pakistan’s undefeated record further in the tournament after he has not dropped a single set so far.

Despite being ranked 19 in the world’s youth ranking, six spots under 13-ranked Puerto Rico, Pakistan surpassed his opponent in key areas.

The team recorded 40 points of attack compared to Puerto Rico’s 30, although Pakistan made fewer errors (13) in attacks than Puerto Rico (17). Yahya emerged as the prominent artist for Pakistan and contributed 22 points, including 20 from attacks, a block and a serving. He was supported by Ajmal and Saud, who added seven and six points respectively, with Saud excelled in blocks.

Defensively, Pakistan’s reception and digging was crucial, with 62 successful receptions and 54 graves.

The team also capitalized on server, scored three points and forced 24 opponent errors, while Puerto Rico only succeeded 20 errors from server.

Pakistan has already secured a place in the knockout scene and will play his last group match against Argentina. The team’s consistent performances have placed it as a strong competitor as the tournament progresses.
