The party still goes after Sam Reinhart and Florida Panthers as they secured back-to-back Stanley Cup wins after their Game 6 win over Edmonton Oilers Tuesday.
“Not too much sleep yet, but we’re doing very well,” Joked Reinhart, while talking to Pakinomist Digital during a performance celebrating the Cup victory with Panthers fans at Raising Cane’s in Tamarac, FLA.
“I just said, ‘Who said this is not a hockey town?’ You step in this, it changes your mind very quickly.

For Reinhart, it was a game he won’t forget after scoring four goals in the 5-1 win at home. So the celebration began well before the last horn sounded in the American Bank Arena.
Panthers has carried the cup everywhere through the sunshine and the surrounding cities, including Captain Aleksander Barkov, who knocked on his neighbor’s doors at. 5 the morning after the victory to share the tension.
This is a feeling that Reinhart and many other teammates felt last year when they defeated the same oilers and won in Game 7 to gather the trophy. Reinhart admits it’s better the second time.

“I think there was a moment, maybe a day ago when it was like ‘we’ve been there, done it before,’ and very quickly it changed your mind,” he said. “In many cases it is sweeter than the first one, so we will enjoy every moment of this.”
Florida was the first team since the 2020 and 2021 Tampa Bay Lightning to win back-to-back Stanley Cups. So the next question is obvious: Is Panthers a dynasty?
Better yet, do they need the third straight Stanley Cup victory to be cemented as one?

Reinhart gave the perfect answer when asked if his team is on the verge of earning the roof of the dynasty.
“I mean that’s right what our mindset [is]”he explained.” We have always been right day by day, and last year when they asked for a repetition, we were focused on enjoying the first one.
“So when the time comes, we know we are ready and motivated. But we will be at the moment as we did all end games.”
Reinhart also affected the talent the team added at the trade deadline, including the Playoff Heroes Brad Marchand and Seth Jones, who quickly joined their new teammates.
“It’s incredible,” Reinhart said of the new ones who helped Panthers win it all. “To see the new guys come in and step up in some big situations, it’s been pretty special. We have a few competitors on and off the ice, so we have fun.”

As Reinhart said, the celebration will continue and Panthers will live at the moment. But while GM Bill Zito repeated the same Tuesday night, he also noticed his desire to get Center Sam Bennett, Conn Smythe Trophy winner, Aaron Ekblad, Marchand and Nate Schmidt under the contract to run on three just next season.
These conversations come, but Reinhart knows that Panthers will be prepared to defend their title once again when the puck falls in the 2025-26 season.
