A convoy of vehicles bound for Parachinar came under attack once again, resulting in the martyrdom of one soldier and injuries to four others. In a retaliatory action, security forces killed six militants.
The convoy, consisting of 35 vehicles, was on its way to Parachinar when unidentified assailants opened fire, bringing the convoy to a halt. The attack took place in Kurram district, Express News reported.

A few weeks ago, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kurram district, Javed Allah Mehsud, was injured in a firing attack on official vehicles in the province.
The incident took place in Baggan area when unknown assailants opened fire on government vehicles.
According to initial reports, the deputy commissioner sustained injuries and was immediately rushed to the Lower Ali Zai hospital. A police officer was also injured in the attack.
Local authorities have confirmed that DC is in a stable condition and arrangements are underway to transfer him to Peshawar via helicopter for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the process of demolition/dismantling of bunkers began on Monday. According to the peace agreement, all bunkers will be dismantled by February.
Many locals will hope this exercise can restore lasting peace to a region where violent clashes have resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives over the past few months.
The government has signed a peace agreement between the two parties in Kurram district to establish law and order. The agreement includes the demolition of all bunkers in the region.
