A passenger track overturned in Chitral’s Lowari tunnel area due to heavy rain and snowfall. Fortunately, all passengers were unkind in the incident, Express News reported.
According to reports, rain and snow resumed late last night, causing a slight layer of snow to settle in chitral city and the surrounding areas. Despite the snowfall in the Lowari tunnel, traffic remained operational.
However, the Lowari tunnel police have imposed a restriction on vehicles without snow chains prohibiting them from crossing the tunnel under such weather conditions.
On the other hand, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country over the next 12 hours.
However, rain winds and thunderstorms are expected snowfall over the mountains in isolated places in Kashmir, northeast Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Light to moderate fog in spots is also expected in northeastern Punjab in the morning hours.
