Richard Tillman, the brother of the late NFL player and army hero Pat Tillman, who crashed into a San Jose post office on Sunday morning, has dealt with “serious mental problems for years,” his family said.
Kevin Tillman, the brother of Pat and Richard, said that Richard “Live streaming what I would call, his changed himself on social media,” which took place under the crash. Richard told police at the scene of the accident that set the post office on fire after the car burned on fire that he live streaming it.
Richard also told officers he was Pat Tillman’s brother on stage.

“Our family is aware that my brother Richard has been arrested,” Kevin said in a statement to the NBC Bay area. “First of all, we are relieved that no one was physically injured.
“We have limited information at this time, but we are in communication with local authorities and deliver as much background and context as we can.

“To be clear, it’s not secret that Richard has been fighting for serious mental health problems for many years. He has live streaming, what I would call, his changed even on social media for someone to witness. Unfortunately, it is to make sure it is something that has nothing further to add him to add that we have to add that I do not add him.”
Richard was arrested and booked on suspicion of arson and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday per. Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office’s online records.

Pat was an NFL star for Arizona Cardinals, who famously left his career in football to record in the US Army in May 2002. The decision came after the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Tillman served in Iraq and Afghanistan as an army ranger and made several fighting trips before being killed in the Afghanistan mountains.

While it was originally reported that Tillman was killed by enemy fire, the Pentagon told his family that he was killed by friendly fire. In 2007, the Pentagon gave that Tillman’s death was unintentional.
