Patrick Beverley never received NBA All-Star Honors and has not played in the league for more than a calendar year. But the former Milwaukee Bucks player remains one of Basketball’s most obvious voices.
Atlanta Hawks Guard and four-time All-Star Trae Young became Beverley’s latest goal of criticism. Beverley initially questioned the level of intensity that some NBA players apparently have during the league’s annual all-star game. Beverley compiled its theory with the perceived effort that many of the same players were shown during open races at gyms across the country during the high season.
“Because All-Stars take the game for granted. Not 1 All-Star on the field. Good bump,” wrote on x last week.
The message got a sharp reaction from Young, who directed Beverley to “relax” and let the players speak for themselves. A few days later, Beverley Young mentioned on an episode of “The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone.”

“I don’t think he’s won enough to even talk to me like that or tweet me like that,” Beverley said.
“He’s been in the playoffs three times. I’ve been in the playoffs nine [times]. He has been in the NBA seven years. My first seven years I did not miss the end game at the western conference, “he said.” His return is likely to be, ‘Yes, you were not the main player on the team.’ Absolutely right. But that’s why it’s a team. “
Beverley also noted that he had conversations with former Hawks players competing with Young. Beverley quoted Young’s alleged leadership questions when he mentioned that several of these athletes were not happy to play in Atlanta.

“They don’t think he’s a good leader. They don’t think he’s a good teammate. … Tree you could score all the points you want,” he said. “You can earn all the money you want. You can have all the leading assists you want. You can do all that. If you don’t win, it doesn’t matter. If you don’t win when you retire, they’ll forget your name too. Soon.”

On Wednesday, Young went to his social media platform to tackle Beverley’s comments. During the nearly 12 -minute video, Young suggested that Beverley “don’t know what it’s” to be in his position.
Young also demanded that Beverley named the former teammates he claimed had problems in their time with hawks.
“List your source. Which teammate of me told [you] That it’s trae hawks, it’s not Atlanta Hawks? “Young said.” Because I wanted to tell you myself, I have a lot of teammates I keep in touch with. Very. Much that I know you know. So I want you to indicate your source. “
Young also aimed at Berverley’s emotional reaction to Minnesota Timberwolves, which defeated Los Angeles Clippers in a 2022 play-in tournament game. Beverley played for Timberwolves that season, but wore a clippers jersey in the four previous seasons.
“We don’t even want to talk about how we celebrate play-in gains,” he said. “I win play-in games on the road and I’m ready to come to the playoffs. You win play-in games at home and you stand on the scores table that acts as if it’s a championship. We also celebrate wins different.”
Young ended by stating that he has nothing but love “for Beverley and suggested that he would be willing to talk to the former Bucks player.
The Hawks team on social media jumped into the crisis by sharing a gathering video that highlighted Young Scoring when Beverley played defense.

Beverley added more fuel to the fire on Thursday by accusing Young of putting “empty statistics.” Beverley also aimed at Young’s abilities on the defensive end of the court.
“Humble yourself. Embrace the constructive criticism,” Beverley said. “Get better at it and move f — on. We don’t have to keep going back like this a motherf — g YouTube debate. Like it’s not that deep.”
Beverley continued to take Jabs on Young’s leadership and claimed that the 27-year-old guard prefers to work away from the team facility. “Every time we see you, you train somewhere else. We never see you in the Hawks Arena who is training,” he said.
Beverley said he ultimately thinks the exchange could serve as a source of motivation for young people.
“No matter how it goes, it will be good that comes out of this,” Beverley said. “Either way. I hope this is motivating. I hope you come to the end of the year and you are fighting for a mother — ing playoff.”
Young was an average of 25.3 points and 9.8 assists in seven career season matches against Beverley.
