The Chiefs star opened up his season with Kay Adams Monday and talked about choosing the brain for NFL legend Tom Brady. He said Brady offered him some sage councils.
“He always talks about being yourself,” Mahomes said at the “Up & Adams show.” “He thinks so, and as I really believe in it too, guys can see when you’re not authentic and not putting the work. It’s something he did every single day. That’s why respected guys so much.
“That’s all I have to do for the rest of my career and I felt like I’ve done so far. I’m always myself, whether you like me or don’t like me, you know. I give everything I can to win football matches.”

Mahomes had 3,928 passing yards and 26 touchdown passes when Kansas City went 15-2 in 2024. But the pressure to get another race for the Super Bowl will be even higher.
For Chiefs to have another successful season, Mahomes said the key was to have “fun again.”
“I think it’s just us who have fun again. I mean it’s always been fun to play for Kansas City Chiefs. That’s what makes it special. I feel like last year, I wouldn’t say it was pressure, but guys would go out there and win every single week and not for the fun of the game just because we were going to.

“Let’s go out there and have fun. The wins come if we play as we know we can play. We have the talent. We have the coaches. We work harder than someone in the NFL, so let’s go out there and have fun and let the results handle themselves.”
