Patrick Schwarzenegger has revealed which actors inspired his The white lotus character.
“I wanted to build something that was new and different, but which comes from Mike’s writing. I saw some of the actors, I look up to play Jock-Assh*Le-Roller,” Patrick said in an interview with Men’s health.
“I loved what Bradley Cooper did in Wedding accidents. It could have been very one-note, but it played very well, ”he shared.
“Then there were elements of Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman in American PsychoWho is this really well dressed, composed guy-but there is also something subtle of him. I wanted people to suspect Saxon, that something about him did not click properly, ”he explained.
He continued, “That’s what Mike is doing so well: He wants the audience to believe that everyone and everyone is able to be the killer or victim. He wants you to talk about it and guess. And with Saxon I would mix these elements of absurd, suspicious, funny and crazy.”
Patrick also shared insight into how he portrayed Saxon’s struts.
“He goes with bravado… .I would go, and Mike [White] would scream from over the camera, ‘Walk Richer! You don’t look rich enough! Be more rich! Rich, rich, rich! ‘This guy is a character, and if I just went how I would normally go to the beach, it doesn’t play the same way as if I’m struggling as if I’m on a catwalk. This guy is just over the top, ”he shared.
Patrick Schwarzenegger plays in The white lotus Season three with Jason Isaacs, Aimee Lou-Wood and more.
