Assistant Commissioner Pattoki, Furqan Ahmed Khan, was found dead under mysterious circumstances after he was discovered unconscious in the laundry room in his official residence.
According to police, the 33-year-old officer had sustained a serious head injury that proved fatal on the scene.
DSP Circle Patoki, Rana Sajjad Akbar, declared that Furqan Ahmed Khan was connected to civil service through CSS, and Patoki was his first post. He had recently assumed charges as an assistant commissioner. His family members revealed that he suffered from brain tumor and epilepsy and used to get medicine regularly from Islamabad. Police also regained epilepsy medicine from his room.
Sources revealed that the deceased officer had actively monitored emergency relief schemes for flood victims in recent days and stayed in Bluoki Rest House. The night before his death he withdrew to his room but did not wake up in the morning. When his gunman, Asad, did not receive any response after repeated banks, the door was broken open and Furqan was found lying with his face down in the laundry room with blood seeping from the head damage. Rescue 1122 and police were immediately informed.
He was moved to the hospital where doctors declared him dead. Police collected evidence from the stage and called for a forensic team.
The first study suggests that he sustained the deadly damage after falling into the laundry room, but officials said the exact cause of death would only be confirmed after the forensic report.
Belonging to Lakki Marwat, Furqan Ahmed had married a year and a half ago, but had no children. He was a resident of his wife in government.
News about his early death spread grief not only in Pattoki, but also in his native town of Lakki Marwat.
