Full spoilers immediately follow For Hit HBO Max Show’s latest episode. Turn back now if you haven’t seen it yet.
This season’s third chapter, entitled ‘Another Rick Up My Sleeve’, drops a large bomb shell that adds a new one – not to name tremendous – layers of complexity to ‘they will not, they’ dynamic between peace maker, real name Chris Smith and Harcourt.
It has everything to do with one of the best HBO Max Shows’ latest comos too. That person? Rick flag jr who was played by Joel Kinnaman in 2016’s Suicide Squad Movies and 2021’s Suicide Squad film.
Front Peacemaker 2Landing release suggested Industry Insiders that Kinnaman would appear in the DC Universe (DCU) TV series. His performance in ‘Another Rick up my sleeve’ via a flashback scene doesn’t come as a shock to someone who saw it rumor.

But I’ll take off. Harcourt makes it clear to mark JR that she is not interested in having an actual relationship with him. She also reminds him that he is actually seeing a wizarding woman named June, which DC fans will know by her meta-human pseudonym’s enchantress, so he cheats technically in June with Harcourt. However, it is also clear that despite being just friends, Harcourt has developed some Feelings for him in the midst of their situation.
It is important when it comes to her reluctance to come with Smith. Remember, in Suicide Squad‘S third and last act kills Smith Flag Jr. Smith does so after the latter threatens to leak very sensitive information that flag JR finds a hard drive to the press about the experiments performed on the island of Corto Maltese. In the words of Peacemaker’s words, the said intel would cause an international crisis. Long story Short: The couple struggles and Smith ends up sting flag jr through the heart with a broken wall tile.
Given that Harcourt knows that Smith is responsible for flag JR’s death, it makes perfect sense why she gave him the cold shoulder in large parts of the series’ first season. She has since been heated to Smith, but her running rejection of his romantic progress confirms that she would not only feel guilty of getting the man who killed her former lover but also put herself on the intersection of a revenge rick flag SR, pumping lots of Argus’ resources to find and take out Smith.
Things become just as complicated for Smith in ‘Another Rick up my sleeve’.
After discovering a parallel world via Quantum Unfolding Chamber in Season 2 Episode 1, and then traveling to this alternative universe last episode to intoxicated text This dimension’s version of Harcourt, Smith uses almost all section 3 of the said parallel universe.
Unfortunately for Smith, a version of Rick Flag is still living and good in this universe, although one that is more of a goofball compared to the alpha man we saw in Suicide Squad and Suicide Squad.
Understandably, flag JR activates to be alive in this alternative reality Smith’s PTSD over his killing of DCU’s flag JR, leading to a brief albeit awkward conversation between them. To make it worse, this rich flag JR has also dated its version of Harcourt, which had also gone out (and since broken up) with this universe’s peace maker, which has since been killed by DCU’s peace champion at this season’s premiere. If we thought Smith and Harcourt’s dynamics were complicated at the best times, the introduction of this second dimension and DCU’s peace maker who diminishes it is only to make things even more intricate to everyone involved.
We’ll see how flag JR’s ghost plus Smith’s trips to this parallel world continues to influence Smith and Harcourt’s relationship as the DCU chapter One -Show continues.
