“Is Peacemaker Season 3 happens? “It’s a question that everyone has asked since last season ended.
The short answer is that it does not look like DC Universe (DCU) TV show will be back to another rate. If you are wondering why it is because the last episode of Peacemaker Season 2 seems to have created a completely different series – and you can learn all about it in this guide.
Below I have rounded off all we know so far Peacemaker 3 and it is possible Check Spin-off series, including who could be shown in one or both projects where the story of both show could go next and more.
Peacemaker Season 3 Release Date: What we know so far
Peacemaker Season 3 has not been green-lit by DC Studios Co leader James Gunn and Peter Safran. In the least surprising news you read all day, it doesn’t have a release date either.
It is increasingly unlikely that it will also be developed. At the end of September, Gunn admitted a successor to Peacemaker Season 2 was not on the cards. However, he also said grades from Peacemaker would return, albeit in something that is “not accurate Peacemaker 3“
In addition, Gunn teased, who was talking about Season 2 final edition of the official Peacemaker -Podcast,: “Peacemaker will be back [but] Like this TV show? We see exactly what shape [that takes]. We have plans “. He also said its characters are part of” The Future of the DCU “and it won’t be long before we see them again.
What does all this mean? Peacemaker‘s latest chapter, now available at HBO Max, suggests that a spin-off show centered on Checkmate, Spy Agency Co founded by the titular anti-hero and his 11th Street Kids Allies, is in the works instead. Hopefully Gunn will confirm just as much in the near future.
Peacemaker season 3 trailer: Is there one?
No. With Gunn suggests Peacemaker Season 3 is not made, we may not get one either.
It does not mean that a trailer is not being released for a possible Check TV show. However, there is no public information about whether it is even under development, so much less if any internal work has been done at DC Studios yet.
With Gunn steadfastly stating that filming does not start on a DCU project until its manuscripts are completed and he is happy with them, it will be long, long before a teaser for both TV series is with us.
Peacemaker Season 3 Role Authority: Who could return?
Full spoilers follow for Peacemaker Season 2.
Predictable, Peacemaker Season 3’s role crew list has not been revealed. Based on how its ancestors ended and what was teased about CheckHere’s who I would expect to see in both TV show:
- Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt
- Danielle Brooks like Leota Adebayo
- Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase / Vigilante
- Steve Agee as John Economos
- Sun Rodriguez as Sasha Bordeaux
- Tim Meadows like Langston Fleury
- Nhut Lee as Rip Jagger/Judomaster
- Dee Bradley Baker as Eagly (voice only)
Peacemaker‘s season 2-final confirmed that the above-plus John Cena’s Chris Smith, whom I will come back to in a moment-with-founded checkmate, so they are all on its payroll. If a Check TV show is spun on one of the best HBO Max shows’ second season, then I would expect these actors to repeat their roles as their respective characters.
Well, all except Cena. Smith, aka Peacemaker, will not be part of this DCU chapter 1-pseudo-sequence because he is stranded in a completely different world than DCU’s Planet Earth. Unless CheckThe plot centers on his Allied’s attempt to find out what happened to him, and eventually traces him, I suppose Cena will not be part of the procedure.
There are other DC Commerce Figures – the ones we’ve seen in DCU before, and those who are newcomers to Gunn and Safran’s Nascent Cinematic Universe – that could be displayed. Right now, though, I have no idea who else could show up.
Peacemaker Season 3 Story Speculation

There is no story synopsis to Peacemaker Season 3 or its predicted postponement. Given what happened last season finale – read more about it in my Peacemaker Season 2 ends explained piece – there are a few things we can speculate on.
For starters, 11th Street Kids – Harcourt, Adebayo, Economos, Chase and Eagly – will be flummoxed by what has happened to Smith. They have no idea that he was kidnapped by Argus and Marooned on the planet known as salvation. Whether Peacemaker 3 or Check Advertised by DC Studios, I imagine that either Project’s overall narrative will focus on the group’s efforts to learn the truth about Smith’s disappearance and try to bring him home.
This story could form the basis of Check or Peacemaker Season 3, but that wouldn’t be the only one. After all, checkmate was set up to make the world a better place, so its small but dishonest gangs of characters would probably take on other cases to resolve them.
In that sense it could play in a similar way as Marvel’s Agents of shield TV series and/or put a cartoon-inspired spin on popular ‘case per week’ TV shows like The X files. That would allow Check To highlight certain characters in each episode and allow its showrunner (whether it is gunn or another) to dip your toes in all kinds of sub -genres, albeit with a cartoon twist.
There are unresolved plot wires from Peacemaker Season 2 that could be revised or wrapped up in Check Or its parents’ shows third season.
The biggest of these concerns Earth-2s Keith Smith, who still lives after the events of Season 2’s penultimate chapter. He may exist in an alternative reality to DCU, but after what went down in last season’s seventh episode, he will have revenge on DCU’s Smith and his allies.
This may not be the last thing we have seen of Captain Triumph (or which moniker he may have taken over since we last saw him). In a talk with the deadline, Gunn said, “I have plans for Keith, I just haven’t figured out how it’s all going to work, so I have to make sure I can do it. It’s hard with the interdimensional bouncing things to make these things come together in the way I want.
If Peacemaker Season 3 ever sees the light of day, and if it wants to tackle another multiverse story, he could be installed as its primary villain.
Will there be more seasons of peacemaker?
Who knows. Per IGN has Gunn not excluded the prospect of making another season of Peacemaker. On threads, Gunn also insisted that the character played by Cena is “Instrumental” to DCU’s overall history. Right now Gunn’s full focus is on MARTRA manalias follow -up to the 2025s Superman Movies (more about this later).
In my opinion, the chance of more seasons of Peacemaker will be made is extremely slim. It would be weird if Gunn, Safran and Company developed Checkwhich may be Peacemaker 3 In total except name and then made an actual third season of its overall show.
Unless Check were appointed Peacemaker Season 2.5, a third season of the head -tv series would actually be Peacemaker Season 4, which can confuse viewers and make things messy from a DCU -Time Line Perspective (for more details of the latter, see our DC movie in order guide). Until there is some actual movement on Peacemaker 3 and/or a Check Spin-off, who knows what the future has for the former.
How could Peacemaker Season 3 bind to other DCU projects?
Again, I don’t know yet. With Gunn that puts all his efforts on Superman Follow -up film, we may not know how Peacemaker 3 and/or Check could bind to MARTRA man (Mot). For more about that flick, see my dedicated guide to MARTRA man.
If, and it’s a big one if, salvation – alias planet Smith is caught on – have a great deal to play in MotThen Gunn’s next DCU movie and Peacemaker Season 3/Check Could narratively run along with each other. It’s just speculations on my part but i don’t think you can have a situation where the 11th street kids might be looking for Smith without this story being affected by Mot. The same would be the case with Gunn’s Superman successor if it involves salvation in some capacity.
With MARTRA man Seen to arrive in theaters around the world in July 2027, main photography must begin early next year. Hopefully we will get some answers about the film’s role crew and plot, plus how Peacemaker 3/Check‘s tale may fit around it.
