Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro couldn’t help bring up Dallas Cowboys while celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles Friday.
Under the Eagles’ Victory Parade, which celebrated Sunday’s Super Bowl -Sow, Shapiro gave a speech in which he suggested that Eagles be “America’s team.”
“People love to hate on Eagles. People love to hate on Philly. I think we became America’s team in all of this. I hope Dallas hears this,” shapiro shouted during his speech.
Shapiro then relocated a sports illustrated article that covered his comments on X. Many critics were quick to mock him for the comments in response.
“Crazy to think of a team that has not won a super bowl of 30 years under the parade,” wrote a user.
“We don’t want to be America’s team. Why should you think we’re doing it? Just stop,” another user wrote.

Other critics were quick to point out that Eagles shared a state of Pittsburgh Steelers, which has a longer story successfully than Eagles, with six Super Bowl victories compared to Eagles’ two.
“They’re not even Pennsylvania’s team,” a user wrote.
Another user asked, “If Steelers wins next year … what would you say?”
Many users pointed out how long Shapiro and Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker took during their speeches. Parker was even booed under her and was greeted with song by “Wrap It Up!” From fans.
“You and the mayor should have just said ‘go birds’ and then left the scene. No one was there to see any of you. I said what I said,” wrote a user in response.

Another user wrote, “You and Cherelle Hogged too much time on the podium. No one would listen to any of you.”
Shapiro has come under fire from the conservatives after the defendant President Donald Trump‘s administration on Thursday to release federal funds. Shapiro said the administration’s decision brought Pennsylvania projects in Pennsylvania, including “Recovery of abandoned minland, covering and connecting of orphaned wells and lowering consumer costs.”
Meanwhile, Commonwealth incurs debt on federally approved projects.
“The federal government has entered into a contract with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which has promised to provide billions of dollars in congress -approved funding, which we have committed to serious needs – such as protecting public health; cuts energy costs; providing safe, clean drinking water; and creation; of rural jobs.

“While more federal judges have ordered Trump administration to free this funding, access has not been restored, which has left my administration without any choice other than pursuing litigation to protect the interests of the Commonwealth and its resident.”
The Trump administration has called the legal challenges of Trump’s executive orders “an attempt to undermine the will of the American people.” The White House on Thursday rejected Shapiro’s trial as an extension of “left resistance.”
“Radical leftists can either choose to swim against the tide and reject people’s overwhelming will, or they can get on board and work with President Trump to promote his wildly popular agenda. These lawsuits are nothing but an expansion of left resistance – and Trump “The administration is ready to meet them in court,” said the White House, as press secretary Harrison Fields.
