Gold has been one of the strongest executive assets in 2025, which increased 38% years to date, which surpasses Bitcoin23% advance. However, it is no secret that Bitcoin has made it crazy better than gold (and virtually everything else) over his short life.
A control of the two popular inflation -resistant assets against a broad measure of the US money supply (known as m2) provides further insight into their performances.
Adjusted for M2 Growth, gold-on despite the recent strong race-offs under its top in 2011 and about the same level as in 1975. All-time High for Gold Against M2 took place in 1980.
Bitcoin tells another story. Each bull cycle has seen BTC hit a record versus m2, including last month, as Bitcoin touched both an absolutely high and high and a new high in relation to the money supply.
This contrast can highlight the different roles of the different roles. Gold continues to act as a long -lasting hedge and a stabilizer in portfolios, while Bitcoin’s behavior shows how new forms of money can react differently to an era with rapid monetary expansion.
