During an interview with NPR, Buttigieg recognized “justice questions” in the debate.

The Democrat then agreed that parents who have complained about trans athletes competing against their daughters “have a case.” However, Buttigieg also claimed that politicians should not dictate politics to determine if men can compete in women’s and girls sports.

“And that’s why I think these decisions should be in the hands of sporting leagues and school boards and not politicians … in Washington trying to use this as a political farmer,” buttigieg said.

How transgenderism in sports changed the election in 2024 and ignited a national counterculture

“Chess differs from weightlifting, and weightlifting differs from volleyball, and the middle school is different from the Olympics. So that’s exactly why I think we shouldn’t be magnificent on this as politicians. We should be to strengthen societies and organizations and schools to make the right decisions.”

Democrats, including former President Joe Biden, have subjugated to political changes that would allow trans athletes to compete in women’s and girls sports. Biden adopted an executive order on his first day in the office in January 2021, saying “Children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the toilet, the dressing room or school sport.”

Democrats in Congress also tried to adopt transgender Bill of Rights and Equality Act, both of which would have enabled Trans athletes to compete in girls and women’s sports.

President Donald Trump signed “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order 5 February, and 27 states have passed their own laws to secure similar restrictions.

Buttigieg joins several other prominent Democrats and media surveys that have spoken against letting men compete with women, including California Govin Gavin Newsom; Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass.; and HBO host Bill Maher.

An April report from the New York Times claims that Biden did not agree with Trans athletes who participated in women’s and girls sports.

“According to a number of former Biden administration officials, a simmering debate remained within the administration as to whether these title IX protection should include sports,” Times reported. “One side … Maintained that there was no legal difference between letting trans students use bathrooms that are in line with their gender identity and allowing trans students athletes to play on sports teams that are in line with their gender identity.”

However, the bide was “on the other hand … who thought that the sport’s competitive, zero-sum character made them different from the bathrooms-to some transking athletes would enjoy unreasonable physical benefits over women. The most important thing, one of the officials who had this view was the bite themselves.”

ONE New York Times/Ipsos Survey Found the vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, do not think transnry athletes should be allowed to compete in women’s sports.

“Thinking of Transgender female athletes – Meaning Athletes who were male at birth but who are currently identifying themselves as female – do you think they should or should be allowed to compete in women’s sports? “Asked the study.

Of the 2,128 people who participated, 79% biological men who identify themselves as women said should not be allowed to participate in women’s sports.

Of the 1,025 people who identified themselves as Democrats or inclined Democrat, 67%said transkon athletes should not be allowed to compete with women.

Other data suggest that the question affected the result of the 2024 election.

ONE National Exit Poll Director of the Women affected for America (CWA) Legislative Action Committee found that 70% of moderate voters saw the issue of “Donald Trump’s resistance to trans -transmant boys and men playing girls and women’s sports and of transient boys and men using girls and women’s bathrooms” as important to them.

And 6% said that was the most important question of all, while 44% said it was “very important.”
