Petrol price may increase by Rs 5/litre

ISLAMABAD:

The government is preparing to place an extra burden on citizens affected by inflation, as a significant increase in petroleum product prices is expected from 1 March.

According to government sources, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has completed its price calculations and the prices of petroleum products are likely to increase by up to Rs 6.88 per liter from March 1.

Sources said the price of petrol is expected to increase by Rs4.58 per liter while high-speed diesel may increase by Rs4.73 per litre.

They further stated that the price of kerosene oil is likely to increase by Rs6.88 per liter and light diesel oil may see an increase of Rs5 per liter.
