Pakistan and Iran have confirmed their obligation to further expand bilateral cooperation in different areas, which emphasizes the importance of strengthening their conditions in extensive and mutually advantageous areas.
During a meeting between the visiting Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and President Asif Ali Zardari in Aiwan-e-Sadr, the two leaders exchanged views on larger regional and international developments and emphasized the need for coordinated diplomatic efforts to prevent the escalation of conflicts and to promote peace, security and stability in the region.
Welcome President Pezeshkian, President Zardari said Pakistan and Iran enjoyed fraternal connections based on shared religion, culture and mutual respect. He appreciated Iran’s principle attitudes to regional issues and recognized Tehran’s consistent support for regional cooperation.
Zardari expressed gratitude for Iran’s solidarity in critical moments and confirmed Pakistan’s obligation to work closely with Iran for a peaceful and prosperous future. The president also thanked the Iranian supreme leader Syed Ali Khamenei for his consistent support for the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
