Rory McIlroy is fresh from ending his career grand slam, finally winning the masters and earning his place on top of the golf world.
When he was ready for the PGA championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina, McIlroy was asked about his icy reception against Bryson DeChambeau under Masters. The two were paired together for the final round of Augusta, and Dechambeau mentioned that McIlroy “didn’t talk” to him once during it.

McIlroy brushed it off when he talked to journalists on Wednesday.
“I don’t know what he was expecting,” he said. “I mean we’re trying to win the masters. I don’t want to try to be his best maker right there.
“Look, everyone is approaching the game in different ways. And yes, I was focused on myself and what I needed to do, and that was really all it was. It didn’t mind him. I felt like it was what I had to do to try to make the most of myself that day.”

Dechambeau said last month that McIlroy seemed to be in the zone.
Despite a boom-filled day, McIlroy’s career slamed with his first victory at Augusta National after defeating Justin Rose in a hole’s playoffs on 18. After Rose missed a 15-foot putt for Birdie.
