It’s been a pretty long waiting game since PGA Tour and Liv Golf announced their intentionem to go together.

This shock message came on June 6, 2023, but with almost all accounts no deal is imminent.

Rory McIlroy recently seemed to suggest that it was on those who deficated to get an appointment and said “it is taking two to tango.”

Government of Masters Master Scottie Scheffler shared a similar mood earlier this week.

“I wish some of these guys had stayed, but at the end of the day they made their choices. They knew the consequences of this decision, and I’m not here to change my mind. I do not hold any bad will to any of the guys who left,” Scheffler said.

“They did what they would do and I can’t control their lives. I won’t sit here and say they should have done something different. They made their choice. If we want to find out why the golf game isn’t back together, ask these guys. Go where they play this week and find out when the game will come back together.”

Scottie Scheffler reveals Texas-inspired menu to Masters Champions Dinner

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan recently called President Donald Trump “the facilitator” in the ongoing discussions between the two sides.

Last month the trip credited Trump for ”[getting] involved for the benefit of the game, “and it seems that there has been movement since he got involved.

“These conversations are real. They are significant and they are driven at the top levels of both organizations. These conversations have been significantly strengthened by President Trump’s willingness to act as a facilitator,” Monahan said earlier this month. “President Trump is a lifelong Golffan. He strongly believes in the power and potential of the game, and he has been extremely generous in his time and influence to help bring a deal together. He will see the game reunited. We will watch the game reunite and his commitment has made the prospect of reunification very real.”

Monahan added, “We believe there is room to integrate important aspects of life golf into the PGA Tour platform,” and he could imagine “a future” in which the governor of the public investment fund Yasir al-Rumayyan can participate in the tour board.

Trump last month expressed optimism that the two sides get some Type Agreement done.

“They have to meet,” he said. “They’ve had a lot of discussion back and forth. They both mean well and an appointment will eventually happen. I think it will happen pretty quickly. It would be nice to see the best golfers play against each other.”
