Private eyes saw PGA Tour golfer Vince Whaley tried to get out of a jam on par-5 11. Hole at Sanderson Farms Championship on Sunday in Jackson, Mississippi.
Whaley entered some cloudy water to play a shot. He gently looked at the shoulder to find a 6-foot alligator staring him down. Somehow he managed to save pairs on the hole and get out of Damage’s way in the process.

He said he figured the reptile was about 20 meters away when he tried his shot.
“Well, fortunately my back was for him so I could focus on the shot for a moment,” Whaley said, adding that he had “a lot of confidence” in his caddy and looked at my back.
The alligator never moved, but Whaley revealed the plan if it should have sneaked closer.

“The plan was to get hell out of the water,” he said.
WHALEY ended 5-under pairs for the round and 19-Under for the tournament that took place at the Country Club of Jackson. He was tied to the third to the tournament with Rasmus Højgaard and Danny Walker. Steven Fisk finished two strokes better than Garrick Higgo to win the tournament.
The 30-year-old golfer has played 135 events in his PGA Tour career. Although he has no winner, he has made 84 cuts, finished five times in the top five and 11 times in the top 10.

He has three top 10 finishes during the 2025 season.
