PHC orders answers over ‘disappearances’ in Peshawar, Mardan

The Peshawar High Court on Saturday issued writ orders on petitions seeking recovery of missing persons from Peshawar and Mardan.

PHC Justice SM Atiq Shah passed the orders on the writ applications.

According to the court, five persons disappeared from the jurisdiction of Khazana police station in Peshawar. The missing persons were identified as Muhammad Abrar, Muhammad Sohail, Muhammad Farshid, Muhammad Zubair and Muhammad Khurshid.

The court noted that allegations about the disappearance of the five men are being leveled against the Station House Officer (SHO) of Khazana police station. SHO Khazana has been asked to submit a report within seven days.

In a separate case, Payo Khan’s disappearance from the limits of Mathra police station has been alleged against the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Peshawar.

SHO CTD Peshawar and SHO of Mathra police station have been asked to submit reply within seven days.

In another case, Kashif Usman’s disappearance from Mardan has been alleged against CTD Mardan. The in-charge of CTD Mardan and the SHO of the relevant police station have also been ordered to file a reply within seven days.
