Philadelphia Phillies Manager Rob Thomson had an interview in the game during a spring training game on Wednesday, but he didn’t get many words in.
That’s because he saw his pitcher, Jesús Luzardo, give up back-to-back-to-back home runs in three consecutive seats.
Phillies visited Detroit Tigers in Florida when Thomson had the headset at the bottom of the second round of a scoreless game.

During the interview, Jahmai Jones went deep out of Luzardo, resulting in a typical home drive from the ESPN crew.
“Looking like a shift,” Thomson grabbed awkwardly.
The next dough, Andy Ibáñez, followed with a home drive of himself in almost the same place.
When he thought they had some time, Karl Ravech Tomson thanked for “sticking to” the broadcast crew through the back-to-back-donat. Then Gleyber Torres came to the record.
Torres also went deep over the left field wall, and Thomson was literally speechless.
It was a six-run second round for Detroit that repeated the race in total in the third round. The game ended in a 17-7 win for Detroit.

That was not exactly what Luzardo would have after sending a 5.00 ERA of only 12 starts in an injury-riddled 2024 season. He showed promise with Miami Marlins and sent a 3.48 era in 2022 and 2023. He was originally an Oakland -Athletics Prospectus.
But after his troubled 2024 campaign, Marlins traded him away to their NL East Rivals in December.
Luzardo turns out to be the team’s No. 5 starter in a stacked rotation led by Medsaces Aaron Nola and Zack Wheeler, the latter of which ended in second place in the NL CY Young Award vote last season with a career-best 2.57 era.

Thomson replaced Joe Girardi as Phillies’ manager in 2022, which turned out to be a turning point in their season. They liquidated with winning the pennant.
