PIA flight diverted to Karachi after bird strike in mid-air

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Flight PK-859 traveling from Lahore to Jeddah was struck by a bird mid-flight. As a result, the flight was diverted to Karachi Jinnah International Airport as a precautionary measure.

The collision with the bird caused serious damage to the plane’s windshield. Repair of the aircraft is expected to take about 12 hours.

According to sources, 344 passengers were on board, all of whom have been transferred to a hotel.
