Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has launched a survey after a flight, PK 306, traveling from Karachi to Lahore, landed in Allama Iqbal International Airport without one of its wheels.

A spokesman for Pia stated that the question was discovered during an inspection after the flight’s landing at the airport, which revealed that one of the rear tires was missing.

Sources revealed that despite over 14 hours passing since the flight, the missing tire has not been found in neither Karachi nor Lahore airports.

Reports show that the tire was present when the plane started from Karachi and the plane made a normal landing and taxed at Lahore Airport.

After receiving a review from Lahores Air Traffic Control (ATC), part of the tire shaft was located at Karachi Airport.

According to a statement released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), preliminary observations suggest that the incident may have taken place due to a possible external object affecting the runway at Karachi.

In a statement, a Pia spokesman confirmed that after the flight from Karachi landed in Lahore, it turned out one of the wheels was missing. The Flight Safety Safety Safety department with CAA immediately initiated an investigation into the case.

The statement also added that although the final report will reveal the cause of the incident, the original findings indicate that the wheel may have been affected due to an error on the runway or another external factor.

However, the aircraft made a smooth and safe landing in Lahore, and the aircraft’s design ensures that such an event does not compromise on aviation safety.

A PIA team was sent to Lahore to investigate the wheelless landing. Security and aviation authorities have also begun their investigation into the incident.
