Karachi:

The landing gear wheel, which disappeared during the start of a Pia aircraft heading for Lahore, has finally been located in a remote corner of Karachi Airport.

According to on, the missing wheel was found near the remote parking bay in Jinnah International Airport, close to II Chunrigar Hangar.

The Wheel Shop Technicians discovered the Airbus A320 wheel lying near the landing equipment on a grounded Boeing 777. On has confirmed that there is no evidence of any damage or financial damage resulting from the wheel’s detachment.

Studies have revealed that the wheel was detached during the start, yet the problem did not remain reported until the plane landed in Lahore, raising serious concerns about the aviation standards.

Aviation Authority and Pia’s engineering team conducts a comprehensive study to prevent such events in the future.

The original reports suggest that the possible causes of the detachment of this critical component may include deficiencies in maintenance procedures, manufacturing defects and material fatigue.

Given the strict storage requirements for aircraft carriers – where factors such as temperature and material integrity are closely monitored – this incident has led to deeper control.

Airbus, the manufacturer of the aircraft, has reached Pia and launched a detailed technical examination of the case.

It has requested a full incident report, including flight data items from the last three months, checklists and maintenance history and a comprehensive assessment of the landing equipment and other critical systems.
