Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has introduced a ban on unauthorized photography and video during maintenance operations by air, referring to security and confidentiality.

In a issued statement, the airline said it had observed people who took photos and videos without approval during maintenance activities.

“This is a serious violation of confidentiality and poses significant security risks,” said the Pia spokesman.

In order to maintain high levels of security and privacy, the airline has instructed that only authorized staff – such as flight engineers or members of the designated security team – may take visual items during such operations.

All other persons, including soil management means (GHAs) and staff for carriers, are strictly prohibited from taking any photographs or videos.

Pia warned that any violation of the directive would result in strict administrative and disciplinary action.
